Valdese is known for their top notch design team and ability to mass customize fabrics. Valdese launched InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® in 2017 as a solution to the marketplace needing an “all-in-one” performance fabric. InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® achieves high performance standards by being constructed with a combination of solution dyed Olefin and a high energy dyed polyester. This combination offers a level of design and style consistent with interiors, but is durable enough for the outdoors.

No! InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® yarns are inherently stain resistant; meaning the durability, cleanability and fade resistance are permanent for the life of the fabric.

All InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® products are classified as heavy duty residential textiles that are also suitable for use in hospitality and commercial settings. Further, InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® exceeds all industry standards and testing methods for pilling, seam strength, abrasion and flammability. Every piece of InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® is inspected for quality prior to leaving our mill.

InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® will repel liquid, but is not waterproof. InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® dries fast, but we recommend bringing in any outdoor cushions during heavy rain storms.

InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® has properties that prevent the development of mold and mildew, but please be advised that mold and mildew can grow on dirt and other substances embedded in the fabric. Visit our Cleaning Information page to learn how to clean mildew, dirt and other outdoor stains.

They are designed to be between 54” – 56” average.

No! InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® is perfect for the outdoors because it is fade resistant due to the UV properties of the yarns, which also makes it suitable for any room inside that has direct sunlight.

Yes! InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® is an all-in-one performance fabric that provides consumers with the ability to have a healthier and cleaner performance fabric in their home. In addition to providing the confidence of cleanability with soap and water or bleach and water, InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® can withstand the use of common at-home disinfectant solutions without the risk of degrading or discoloring the fabric.

InsideOut has always been a disinfectant safe performance fabric because of the state of the art yarn technology used to construct the fabrics are bleach safe. *Bleach is an EPA-approved product to combat emerging pathogens due to Covid-19. Yes! We recommend following these steps to machine wash your InsideOut Performance Fabrics^® cushion casings, pillow covers, etc.

• Be careful not to overload your washer.
• Close all zippers to prolong seam life
• Machine wash cold on the gentle cycle with mild detergent
• Air dry until damp
• Put the cover back on the insert while it is still slightly damp.

No, we do not recommend ironing or dry cleaning InsideOut Performance Fabrics^®. We do recommend annual professional steam cleaning for general maintenance. For detailed cleaning instructions, please click here.

Yes! We recommend steam cleaning your furniture once a year to keep it looking brand new.
